Sorry to all you Royalists.
I'm sick of all this stuff on TV.

The Wedding is on every channel here in Aus.
I'll be watching a DVD instead.

Anyone going to watch it ?

Royal Wedding?!!? You mean that tabloid hogwash?!!? Heck no!!! NHL Playoffs are going on! My Hawks are out, but there is lots of exciting hockey in store. Could care less about some royalty in this day and age.

and a GO CATS shout out to you!

What happened to our Hawks ?

The Cats have a bye this coming weekend.
Next round we play the top team Collingwood who are playing damn good footy. But then so are we. Both of us are undefeated so far. It should be a 'cracker' !!

Hawks had a rough go. Ended up as the 8 seed squeaking into the playoffs by way of someone else losing (only the top 8 teams from each conference make the playoffs). Once they got there they faced the presidents trophy winner (NHL's top team, The Vancouver Canucks). In the best of 7 series, the Hawks were quickly down to the Canucks 3 games to none!!! OUCH!!! Was not looking to good, but last years champs did not disappoint. The battled back and tied the series at 3 games each. Tuesday night was the deciding Game 7. Vancouver came out on fire. Scored the first goal a few minutes into the game, but the Hawks young goal keeper was on fire after that.

Late in the game, with roughly two minutes remaining and the Hawks short handed a man on the ice due to a penalty, the captain, Jonathan Toews, scored a shorthanded goal to tie it up at 1. Game 7 went to overtime! You felt that the Hawks were going to win it and had a good chance, but Vancouver's goalie was up to the task. Not too long into the overtime, a Hawks D-man made a mistake trying to clear the puck and that was the end of the Hawks season. Don't sweat it, they played like champs and I don't feel bad for the way they battled. It was an outstanding game and one I enjoyed regardless of the outcome.

That was a fantastic game to watch even if the outcome was not what I wanted.

On another note my eldest daughter Bailey has her first Rugby game today. She plays for her highschool junior and senior teams so she has 2 games today. The weather is miserable with bad storms and if there is lightening which we have at the moment the games get cancelled.

Rain and mud is the way rugby is supposed to be played right?

I am still proud of my Chicago Black hawks really played like the true champs they are. come to think of joel the weather been extremely lousy lately and never saw girls playing rugby.and in the Chicago high skool I went to.. the closet thing we had to rugby was called basketball or soccer.
so I guess you could say I played rugby before.

Here in Ontario the Boys and girls have been playing Rugby for years.
I played Hockey and Football in Highschool. I think I was the smallest offensive gaurd to ever play the position.

Football would be the sport that is most like Rugby I think.

Sadly they lost there first game by one touchdown or 5 points.

I knew I was gonna like you... Huge Hawks fan here... I think Joel knows that... I have started an NHL thread the past few years at one of the other forums.

Sorry to hear of your daughters rugby loss today, Joel... I'm sure you were still proud. Getting ready for the 2nd round tonight. Preds/'nucks... Gotta pull for the Preds tonight, though I am pretty darn sure the Canucks will push them aside in six games.

Good to see the kids playing a sport Joel. Black luck with the first one. On to the next game.

Tonight it's Sanshoes Sydney vs Carlton in the Aussie Rules.
I've tipped Sydney. That should keep him happy... Not sure how his Parramatta Eels are going in Rugby League. He can let us know.
Melbourne Storm are top or second. Not sure.
