How does USB compare to eSATA?
Hello :)
How does USB2 compare to eSATA.
In short it doesn't.
Yet many HDD docking stations sold in the UK.
Are currently USB only!
See here, I am fortunate enough to have a docking station with both options.
So same drive - same docking station.
Only the connection method varies.
USB2:
eSATA:
Just check out those figures.
I don't believe I need say anymore.
So if you get the option of USB only.
As opposed to both USB/eSATA.
Even though it will be a few pound
Go with the later.

Far superior. :D
A very good speedy external option. Highly recommended.

I hate ImageShack. The USB2 image won't load. ;)
I have an external WD MyBook (1TB), but I'd have got the eSATA version if Staples had had it in stock. As it was I got the USB2 version, and while it's nice and reliable, it certainly isn't the fastest drive. ;)
Nice job with the comparisons. :)

I had a Toshiba 320GB that I got a good deal on about 3 yrs ago (USB) and only used it now and again - something went phut with the enclosure circuit recently but figured it would be a good excuse to get a 1TB Iomega - Local Tesco had a great deal at the time.
would have been cheaper to just get a cheap enclosure but didn't let onto the missus about that one - so just threw the drive into the PC for extra storage
I have used http://photobucket.com/ for a few years now (free account) - when you upload images you get a number of options for forum use, direct links etc.

Hi :)
When I tried photobucket a few years ago.
Pics would often disappear for no apparent reason.
Hence I changed to ImageShack.
