Don't answer the door when half asleep
Figured this deserved to be posted here as well so everyone can have a chuckle.
Well - yesterday morning I kind of slept in a bit as the kids were off school for their Easter break - only to be awakened by one of my neighbours at the door.
Still half asleep when I answered the door I foolishly accepted his offer of 2 Rainbow Trout that had been caught the previous afternoon.
Before I knew it I had 2 x 16-18" trout in my possession still intact He did offer to prepare them last night (having never done this before myself - but seeing it done will attempt it next time I am foolish enough to accept) and we cooked the fillets up tonight.
Moral of this story is - don't answer the frickin door if your still half asleep

Fish can dodgy. Hope they eat well. Prefer the salt water type myself.

Nah - my neighbour did them for me - but I watched what he was doing so next time I would be confident doing it myself.
And yes they tasted good when cooked up with some butter & lemon, wrapped in tin foil and put in the oven for 25mins

Fish preparation goes quickest with a sharp filet knife. Scaling you just take a scissor and scrape the skin against the grain of the scales. Very easy.. how did you cook them up in the end? I didn't know you guys had rainbow trout there. I thought they were native to the north american continent. my bad for that assumption if it they truly are one in the same fish.
