The Test

Post by sanshoe on Mon 17 May 2010 - 11:28

One night 4 college students were partying until late and did not study for
a test which was scheduled for the next day.

In the morning, they thought of a plan. They made themselves look as dirty
as possible, with grease and dirt.

They then went to the teacher and said that they had gone to a wedding last
night and on their return, a tyre burst on their car and they had to push
the car all the way back home and that they were in no condition to do the
test.

The teacher kindly allowed them to do a re-test after 3 days. They thanked
him and said they would be ready by that time.

On the third day, they went for their test. The teacher said that as this
was a Special Condition Test, all four were required to sit in separate
classrooms.

They all agreed as they had prepared well in the last 3 days.

The test consisted of 1 single question, worth a total of 100 marks........

Q1. Which tyre?

a) Front Left b) Front Right
c) Back Left d) Back Right

Try this for a taste of Nottingham,

"Ayup miduck, yahreet?"
"Orlright, marrah, burrahm not backter wok yit. Ows yer babbi?"
"Oh, eez pawleh, an ees grizzlin cosee bont hissen on the stoave too. Learn im ter keep is dannies off tho."
"Bet yer missis wuz fritterdeth!"
"Sheworratthat, but she'll coap. Where yowoff"?"
"Ahm gooin uptahn"
"Yawarkin, errint car?"
"Car? Ah soadit ter that immazatoadyabaht, as bought ahr Tracey's ahse"
"Im wi nebbeh wahf?"
"Yeah, ee paid five undred quid an she were reet mardy, ad a baggon for days"
"Ahl gerterahrahse! Yow spawni bogga, it want woth arfa that!"
"Ah know, but ee were needeh"
"Well, ahd better goo backom, bit black ovver Bills"
"Well, tek care, me owd"

If you need a translation here it is,

"Hello, friend are you all right?"
"Yes, my old friend, but I'm not back to work yet. How's your youngest?"
"Oh, he's not well, and he's upset and crying because he burned himself on the stove. Still, it will teach him to keep his hands off"
"I bet your wife was frightened!"
"Yes, she was, but she'll be all right. Where are you going?"
"I'm going to the city."
"Are you walking, or driving?"
"I sold my car to that chap I told you about, who bought [my family member] Tracey's house."
"The one with the nosey wife?"
"Yes, he paid five hundred pounds, and she was sulky and upset, was sulking for days."
"Well, I never! You lucky fellow, it wasn't worth anything like that!"
"I know, but he was desperate!"
"Well, I'd better get back home, it looks like it might rain"
"Take care, old friend."

OH so if I read to slowly I got it all... sounds a lot like southern slang too... if you ever heard a backwoods southerner speak here in the states.. it'd be something close to that too! hahaha.. when i moved here 12 years ago the nurse who was training me had to help me understand the dialect used be some of the regional patients.
