We're on high ground in Leopold just out of Geelong.
Lucky for us in Geelong the Barwon River that flows through has broken its' bank in a few places with only moderate flooding. A couple of roads have been cut but that's it.
There's still a lot of surface water around. We're having a breather before more rain is supposed to hit Friday and during the weekend.
It's bad halfway up through the state where it's flat for miles.
Magnificent for the water storages though. Best for over 10 years.
Just checked the levels and we are at 70-odd % which is almost twice the level this time last year. We at Barwon Water are stoked.
We can turn off the Ground water bores which kept us going for those bad years.
Cut the restrictions down to level 2. I can water my garden any time I want. I can even wash my car !!
What's it like up your end of the world mate ?

Sorry I haven't answered sooner Alby, glad to hear your on high ground.

Not a lot of rain here just some fairly strong winds, apart from that prety good weather.

Speaking of bore water I have a spear pump in the back yard that I use for the garden, unlimited bore water supply, smells like Sh*t but does the job ok.

Our water supply company Mid Coast Water pump the bore water into storage tanks and then filter and treat it before it gets to the house, although it's still hard water when we get it, already have had to replace a water heater element and a flick mixer spout due to them rusting out after only 5 years.

12 month water filters on one tap are only lasting 9 months. :x

Off my soap box now... lol!

Glad to here you folks are all OK. I guess this is your Spring or rainy season now.
We are almost into our Fall season but it is cold already with temps being only about 20 for the highs the last week or so.

Cheers!

Yep,
The days are starting to get longer, the temperature slightly warmer
and hay fever is here. Expecting 17degC today.
There's still areas north of the state that are hoping levees will hold back some rivers.
Hey 4H, How bad will it get temperature-wise ?

Sanshoe, Had drop off some fittings to our Water treatment Facility about 60kms from us last year. They gave us a tour. Wow, hell of a process. The water goes through various sand and charcoal filters,
as well as some 'additives' to remove solids, and 'soften' it. I'm still happy to drink it.

Hey Alby, usually around -10 to -15 C and during storms when it gets quite windy the wind chills will reach - 36 or so. We had a particularly cold winter a few years ago where we had a lot of - 30 degree weather. The worst months are January and February. Mind you 2 years ago December was hell for snow...
