Can you tell me how to post a jpeg file to the forum. I have been trying for a while without any luck. I assume that I should host it which takes me through to a hosting site which my Firefox WOT tells me has a bad reputation. I did ignore this as I had faith that Admin would not recommend a dodgy hosting site but I could not get my file posted. Could someone please post an idiots guide as this appears to be what I need. I must admit that this has been a problem for me for a while and I usually end up failing until the last time I decided to use photobucket. I would, however, prefer to use use the system set up for this forum.

Hi Leslie me again...
Unfortunately due to the forum software and the amount of storage space the attachments option of the forum is disabled.

It also does not display images but rather a link to files that are uploaded so it sort of defeats the purpose of allowing attachments...

If you have a photobucket account I suggest using it as it is probably the best hosting site I have found and used.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi :)
OK Let's get this clear.
Only if posting images in the "Gallery" does it affect this forums "Memory Storage".
If you upload using the forum default as picture attachment.
This should be hosted by forumotions & thereby not affect this forums memory.
But bare in mind that anyone can access those uploads.
An alternative should you want to keep control of your images... is to have an account with somebody like ImageShack.
This would now allow you to host/remove images from anywhere at your command.

I have always found using Photobucket and pasting an IMG link from PB easier & quicker than using the forum hosting option.

but this could just be a touch of senility (courtesy of Zeb) setting in lol!

Leslie, I noticed that when using Firefox the code for the image was not copied when i clicked the copy code button. i had to actually highlight the code then right click and choose copy and then i could paste the code for the image into the post.

This may have been an issue you had trying to post images. This is browser related and nothing to do with the forum software by the way.

Sorry Zeb, I could not make any sense of the system at all. I clicked on "Host an Image" and up popped the box from the host server which I then guided to the image on my computer. I tried several times to host my offering and nothing happened. I therefore went to their homepage and after reading their terms and conditions, I realised that I had to become a member, there was a box there for members to sign in BUT nowhere could I find a place for new members to join so after half an hour I gave up and used good old Photobucket. Incidentally when I gave up and went back to my post I could not get rid of the hosting box. I had to shut down our forum and restart it again.

When I read your message asking me to try again with anything I decided to have a good old browse around for something of substance. I found the article below which to me is brilliant. I have used Microsoft Office 2003 for seven years before moving on to the 2007 version and I was constantly having to look back to find where things were using a useful download from Microsoft. The problem with the microsoft download was that I had to come out of the 2007 version to bring up the other programme that explained where things are in the 2007 version by clicking on where they were in the 2003 version. (I will be asking questions later LOL)

The offering that I have posted through Photobucket allows the menu from the 2003 to be place on the 2007 programme which for me at least is just what I wanted. I have, therefore, offered it up for any other user who would like to have it. It also works with the 2010 version of Microsoft Office.

Hi :)
OK, it is a bit patchy.
I'll give you that.
It is as Joel stated more to do with browser though.
I find it as easy, no easier to use Imageshack.
With trusty "copy & paste". ;)
