For those of you into the surfing, Today I was held up by a lot of traffic along the 13th Beach Rd only a couple of K's from work. The waves must've been bad at Bells Beach so they moved it up to 13th Beach which is next to Barwon Heads and Ocean Grove. There were Communication trucks, tents etc. Don't know who won.

Re: What have you done today?
Well the weather looked fine, just a little windy so I took the bike for a spin. Now I have a job to do later this week, the temp gauge was all over the place, going from 70degs to over heat in seconds then back again. I have had this before and its just a case of taking some of the fairing off then cleaning the contacts in the multipin connector. Also had a problem with the throttle, couldn't seem to get it to stay within legal limits but I think that's a different fix needed.
Alex will be pleased to hear I had no problems with the windscreen wiper.

Re: What have you done today?
I dropped a my mountain bike on the hood of my pickup...dents, scratches and bad words followed... :(
Re: What have you done today?
Er... wait a minute.
Before I say something smart, the hood.. Is that the lid for the engine? If so we call it the bonnet. That being said what was your bike doing over the hood ?

Here in the states we try to cram as much crap in our garages as possible. We store our bicycles on hooks from the ceiling of the garage... Our bikes are over the top of my car as well... I know just what happened... Savage was taking his bike down and lost his balance and dropped it on the hood of his truck... Been there, done that too, my friend. I've got a bum shoulder these days and it is best for everyone to get the hell out of dad's way when he is bringing the bikes down... Gravity at it's best... what goes up, must come down... and often quicker than you expect it to!!!

Pretty close...
As SithTracy stated, the bikes do hang above the hood (bonnet). My battery in my truck died (apparently from one of my kids that must have been playing with the back-up camera {it has a switch to turn on the head unit and camera at any time}). We wanted to go for a bike ride. I went to move the truck to find the dead battery. Annoyed by the lack of honesty of who was messing with the back-up camera, I tried to get the bikes down with the truck in place. I got the wife's down no problem. Getting mine down, I slipped on the boys baseball bat (under the front of my truck) and the rear wheel stayed hooked to the ceiling and as I fell backward the front wheel came crashing down on my hood.
Result:
1. Boys cleaned their area up in the garage and put all toys away.
2. Disabled the switch to turn on camera or head unit to turn on unless the key is in the "on" (engine running) mode.
3. Advised daughter to stay out of my truck (she looked really guilty, but I had nothing on her).
4. Wife made me coffee and told me we would scrape some money together to get hood fixed.
Great wife...kids, er, not so much. I love 'em, but a man's pickup is off limits.

OUCH !!!
Sorry to hear that mate.
Always a pain when the consequences mean you're out of pocket.
How's the body? Didn't bang yourself too bad I hope.
Well my you beaut cat enclosure wasn't the raging success I thought it would be. One of the mini houdinis escaped within a couple of hours. the second followed the next day. The body slumped in despair. I'll be busy reinforcing certain spots and hope.

We do that in the UK as well but we must do it better.
Currently where we are there is no room for a car in the garage. :P worse still is the last house we were in (an old old house), someone had once built a massive garage at the end of the garden - when completely empty you would squeeze 3 cars in and still have room left over..........can't remember the last time we even had 1 car in that garage

Seems to be the more space you have in the garage the more you spread the crap out

and of course it is sacred Man space - where no-one under the age of 20 or female should venture into

Same here, built a 5 bedroom , tripple garage home 5 years ago,Picture below, Two cars and a boat later still haven't got enough room. Even with a shed up the back yard, Gotta have a cull and be ruthless.

Re: What have you done today?
No Alex you can't sleep in the garage, there's a few spiders in there, think this is spider central.. and where would I put all my good junk...
Anyways, there is a couple of spare rooms I could rent for a reasonable price :)

We've got a Double garage with NO cars in it plus a shed up the back I can barely squeeze into.
Like the idea of hanging the bikes from the ceiling or put hooks on the wall.

Re: What have you done today?
Nearly knock-off time
Finished my stint being on standby.
Looking forward to some chips & beer, sitting down to the footy tonight. St Kilda is playing Collingwood. Hate Collingwood. Hoping for a Saints win. Don't have foxtel so when my Cats play Fremantle on Sunday, the radio will be blaring away.
