Has anyone been able to definitively give the us the life span of discs before they degrade to uselessness ? Just curious...
Even Memory ie 4, 8 16g sticks etc ... Are they infallible ?

I can only tell you my experience with data on CD/DVD... Don't trust it for long term data storage. I used to quality scan my discs every so often... Burned our digital photos to CD-R and DVD... after about 2 years there is a significant slide in quality. Enough to tell me online storage was worth the investment. As far as flash memory, it has so many read/write cycles, but I don't use them for long term storage. I don't think there is a perfect solution that you can trust.

Hmm
OK... so if you were desperate to keep things like data, photos, home videos etc re-do them every couple of years.

How does online storage work and $ ?
