Well,
Just put the coffee pot on the stove. A more mild day with some showers. Mid 20's C expected. Last couple of days were hot 30C. Might throw a bit of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway'on the TV for a laugh.

My Windows HDD from 2009 died, will never buy WD again due to so many WD failures.

New 2TB Hitachi Red Deskstar puts the PC with 8TB. But 3TB drive lost all data due to OS loss.

I'm back now. And in front!

Just goes to show.
I have never ever had a WD drive fail.
Though I cannot say the same for Seagate, Hitachi & in fact Deskstar drives were so prone to bricking that many retailers dropped them.
N.B. That doesn't apply to latest generation AFAIK.
WD & Samsung are the only drives for me, on my experience.
BTW I am winning..... Yay!

Nah, short lived. Here I am again!

The new 2TB Deskstar has rave reviews, and it is fast, as SATA 3 connects it. I also have 1TB Samsung I use for data only, and a 2TB Seagate Baracuda for storage as well as a 3TB Baracuda XT for storage. All except the Samsung are SATA 3, that one is SATA 2.

BTW, RMT has a box full of dead WD drives. So it just goes to show you are lucky with them.

Well...
My WD's are going 'great guns' .(my external ones).
Internal Seagates haven't skipped a beat since 2007. Even my old 'fella' that sits in the garage runs on a seagate (IDE) and been going since
2000 at least... Maybe I'm just lucky...

Got a pea soup fog down here today. I like this Autumn weather.

BTW, both WDs had warranty coverage, with free UPS labels. They'll be there tomorrow, then they'll send new ones back, but neither wil be the OS drive.

I went through 4 500GB Cuda's and 2 OCZ Vertex 60GB drives in a year and a half when I built my Q9550 system bout 3.5 years ago. Built an i7 system 2 years ago and blew the last 60 GB OCZ drive. The only thing that was not new about that build was the PSU which I had been using for a number of years. Replaced the SSD again and swapped the power supply for a very nice Seasonic PSU and have never had an issue with a hard drive again. Seems the PSU was spiking on shutdown periodically.

Oh ya I am in the lead.

Leading is nothing. You have 23C, that's 73.4 degrees, we have 82F and dry, that's 27.7 and its dark out now.

And big deal you have working HDDs, I do as well in this PC, all 8TBs of them. That HTPC will have 7TB. Our movie server has 16TBs. We have way too many HD movies to watch and you lose even if you win!

Funny bout that...
I did a rough count and I am still to watch approx 50 to 60 movies. Then there are series upon series of TV shows. No wonder I don't get anymore. I'm just trying to catch up watching what I have.
Weather-wise, I've got no comeback. It gets colder from now on... Not as bad as your cousins up North (Joel & Tracy) thank goodness. Hey,
